Afrikan Revolution @ Poetry and Lyrics Festival 2017 – Kings Place

Afrikan Revolution @ Poetry and Lyrics Festival 2017 – Kings Place

The Revolution Is Now.

Don’t miss Niles ‘Asheber’ Hailstones and the colossal Afrikan Revolution transforming Hall Two into a spectacle of sounds and stories from the African continent. Journey with the Afrikan Revolution as they narrate the collective history of the diaspora using a powerful blend of poetry and music:

We take our place in history where

forgotten heroes and heroines are reborn,

words of wisdom are rejuvenated and revitalised

through word, sound and power.

– Niles Hailstones

The collective spans four generations of storytellers, from Heru, an inspiring rapper with a social conscience greater than his thirteen years, to master drummer and Afrikan music legend, Baba Adesose Wallace.

Capturing ideas of origins and belonging in their lyrics, the Afrikan Revolution brings you an afternoon of vibrant performance mixing Afrikan, reggae, jazz, soul, blues and spoken word to celebrate the wealth of African culture. From the spiritualism of the continent to its impact on the UK music scene today – come join the revolution.
